Addictions

Addictions - About Addiction and Addicts

What makes me an addict? Why is the world persecuting me? I am tired of people judging me. This world has so many problems I need to escape now or I am going to lose my mind.

Alcohol addicts might decide it is time to cut down on their drinking, yet once they try a problem arises that leads them into stress, which in turn the addict will pick up another drink and make excuses. On the other hand, when a person is addicted to sex they may wonder why me?

Pornography is the origin of sexual deviants and we can see that pornography urbanized and continued right through society, reaching back to B.C. Prostitution and other sexual infertilities have been issues long before today, yet a person might wonder why this is happening to them. Yet sex addictions are extreme, since many types of sex addicts include pedophiles, serial killers, rapists, etc.

Gamblers Addicts of gambling has benefactors, which comprise desire, voraciousness, self-centeredness, et cetera and these backers extend to the all-mighty dollar, power and control. The majority of gamblers make every effort to gain power and control through the power of money. The impulses can drive the person to commit crimes, especially if gambling is not fulfilling the needs. Gambling then has lead to murder, theft, etc extending to extreme corruption. What are the signs of gambling addictions?

A number of people judge that if you are missing work hours or school time, resultant from gambling habits, likely then you have a problem. Does your friends and family see you as a greedy ill person? In other words, what has gambling done to your reputation, or status in life? Do you feel embossed because of your gambling problem? Do you habitually borrow cash to support your gambling habits? Is gambling habits putting harmful thoughts in your mind, such as robbery, theft, etc?

Cocaine addicts might ask what it is about the drug that makes them crave. Cocaine is a form of speed that gets a person high for a short time, thus after the high ceases the person will start to crave. This leads to dependency and addiction. Some people will snort a line of cocaine through their nose, and after so long of use the high does not give them the appeal it did at first, and thus they increase the lines. In addition, after so long and the drug is not working as it did at one time, the person may resort to crack cocaine or heroin. Otherwise, a person truly addicted to cocaine will run into areas of his/her life where they cannot afford the drug and will go to extremes to find money to get the drug. As you can see this drug is highly addictive, thus what make you crave the drug are the ingredients. Cocaine also comes in form of rocks (known as crack), etc.

Persons with love and relationship addictions are often angry inside, since the sense of nurturing was denied from childhood, or else the person was abandoned during his/her earlier phase of life. Often these people will suffer depression and will manipulate their situation and people in an effort to control others. The person perceives elements of relationships, such as attachment, magnetism, and sex as a human requirement.

Impulses are a stimulation, or motivation that forces our body ahead, conveying behaviors. Impulses if not self-disciplined will cause an individual to react on sudden unprompted thought or inclinations, inciting to unplanned action. At what time the impulses are imbalanced, an individual often falls into the state of addiction. Impulses then become a compulsive reaction, which can lead to obsession or compulsive-obsessive disorders. This is the problem with most persons addicted to any drug, alcohol, nicotine, eating, gambling, etc. Check your impulses!

ADDICTION TO GAMBLING

The all-mighty dollar always proves to be the most superior force, which drives people to addictions. Gambling addictions are present from a long time back, whatever the continent or civilization, gambling is prevalent all through.

Started as a means of recreation whether on horses, races or at casinos it has turned out into a suicidal habit. Gambling is a risk-taking attitude. It forces a person to take chance again &again with a belief that the next risk will be the one which will put everything right.

It involves escaping from reality. It is not just the actual risk, but also the whole occurrence of events leading up to final decision and outcome that has delusory sense of certainty. It forms a euphoric environment being surrounded by the fantasy.

Gambling is associated with subjective excitement, dissociation, and increased heart rate i.e. somewhat close to a drug induced.

Gamblers

Generally are very ego driven, risk taking, in need of approval and affirmation people, who wants to prove themselves.

Now, Gambling Casinos are available online. Gambling has spread just like a disease all over the world. In Asia alone up to 21% of the poll respondents claimed that they are pathological (alter or disease cause) gamblers. While in America, around 5% among respondents have gambling problems.

The backers in gambling addictions can be envy, greed, and the all-mighty dollar in whole. Many gamblers strive to surpass others by gaining power and control through money. Sometimes, the gamblers got so impulsive that they literally commit a crime, as theft or even murder for their irresistible needs.

Other backers of gambling addictions could stem from poverty. When a person struggles, throughout his life, without the expected success, it becomes tiresome and often the person gives in the bad habit of Gambling. For him it is the last resort to escape the problems.

Excitement is another backer in the gambling industry. Many times the gambling arena brings in, immoral practices that lures in the gamblers. Immoral practices such as soliciting sex, alcohol, etc also act as backers in gambling addictions.

The consequences of compulsive gambling can be catastrophic. Not only enormous debts accrued but also a person can land up behind lockers as a result of some crime though unintended.

Gambling behavior is a problem when disruptions in any major area of life i.e. psychological, physical, social, or personal start emerging. When a person has to compromise his family or career pursuits, it means situation is alarming.

Some people considered gambling just as their habit or entertainer rather then addiction, but if they are missing work hours or school time, resulting from gambling habits, likely then they have a problem.

What has gambling done to their reputation, or status in life, if people see them as greedy person? Do they feel embossed because of their gambling problem? If habitually borrowing cash for gambling purpose becoming a growing tendency? Are gambling habits putting harmful thoughts in their mind, such as robbery, theft, etc? If any of these have an affirmative reply then surely a person is on the way of addiction.

Help is available if person feels; he is a pathological addict of gambling or if gambling problem is becoming a serious issue. Gambling Anonymous is one of the sources available that offers support to affected people. Though, if one has a close-nit family and/or friends then explaining problems to family or friends can be of good help.

Self-talk is other excellent way to help. Inside, a person is a skilled psychiatrist that can offer support for a variety of problems. Role-playing and self-talk combined can do more for the mind than any second party stepping inside one’s head, yet a person will still need support.

So, before it ruins person’s precious life gambling should be nailed down.

ADDICTIONS and GAMBLING

Addicts of gambling strive to take possession of the superior force, which is the all-mighty dollar. The all-mighty dollar drives people to addictions. Still this is not the only element that drives a person to gamble compulsively. Gambling addictions go back a long way, and targets all areas of the world.

Gambling can start as a recreation where the person bids on horses, races, poker, etc and can lead to gambling addictions. Addictions is a form of suicide, since if a person loses control of the senses, death can occur. Gambling is a risk. The act forces the person to chance on a game that leads him to believe the ultimate goal is at the end of the tunnel.

Gambling involves an escape from reality, or else a vision that is out of reach. Gambling is not only a risk; the act causes occurrences that lead to final decisions, which the outcome is delusional of senses, affecting certainty. Gambling forms a euphoric feeling, which leads to fantasy.

Gambling takes hold of addicts, which subjects them to excitement, which in turn dissociates the person from reality. Gambling increases the heart rate, impulses, etc which gives off a high similar to drug and/or alcohol addictions. Gamblers are driven by ego, taking risks, and will often seek acceptance to affirm connection with reality. Thus, the person strives to prove self in society.

Today gambling casinos are over the Internet. Gambling has spread out like a disease over the world leading people into a snare. In Asia up to 21% polls responded to surveys, which estimated that this percentage of gamblers were pathological (alter or disease) gamblers. In America, the estimated respondents of 5% claimed they had a problem with gambling. The upside is most casinos online offer support to those who feel they have a gambling addiction.

Gambling addictions have backers, which include envy, greed, selfishness, etc and these backers extend to the all-mighty dollar, power and control. Most gamblers strive to gain power and control through the power of money. The impulses can drive the person to commit crimes, especially if gambling is not fulfilling the needs. Gambling then has lead to murder, theft, etc extending to extreme corruption.

Life in itself is a risk, or gamble. Everyday we awake we are taking chances when we walk out the door. Still, with all the risks and gambles we take in life, this is not enough for everyone.

Few of the backers in gambling addictions arise from poverty, the feeling of hopelessness, etc, which the person tires out from struggling throughout the life. The person will expect success in turn giving into his impulses, obsessions, and compulsions. This leads to the habit of gambling, since it will help escape the feelings inside.

Obsessions and compulsive response is dangerous in itself. A person obsessed often reaches for goals that are out of reach and will do anything to reach those goals. Rather obsession is a persistency in disturbed preoccupations, which often entail unreasonable notions or feelings. Thus, this is an imbalanced forceful motivation.

The penalties of compulsive gambling can be catastrophic. Not only colossal amounts overdue incur but also the person is at risk of going to jail. While casinos are opening the doors worldwide, the act of gambling in itself is illegal in most states.

If you suspect you have a gambling problem, it is wise to stay clear of casinos and lottery stations. This will help you avoid the urges. You can also ask friends and family for support to deal with your impulses, compulsions, and obsessions. One of the better highs in life is knowing that you earned your way through the pain-stricken world, and that you earned your success by working hard. Never give up there is always help!

Addictions Continuing in Pain

Self-Mutilation Addictions

Addictions to pain are far more dangerous than any other addiction in the world. The pain is often worse than the victim leaves anyone to believe. Self-mutilation is often for the reason to escape reality and/or mental suffering, yet the addicts will find pleasure from causing pain to self.

Some self-mutilators will cause harm to self in an effort to seek attention. The person often wants someone to feel sorry for him or her, and will cause pain to self. In rare instances, the mutilation leads to death and most times because the person accidentally cuts deeper than he/she intended. The sensations these people feel often causes adrenaline to rush, which causes an addiction to occur. Therefore, we need to view many details of pain addictions, or self-mutilation addictions before considering why these people do what they do.

Escape is defined is wrongfully stated in addictions, since persons seeking to flee reality is using an escape mechanism, which helps them to evade objectionable truths and/or responsibilities. The act is a mode of thoughts or behaviors that are triggered by habits. In other words the person becomes accustom to this action, thus it becomes a part of their lives.

Pain addicts pain often use self-mutilation in an effort to avoid expectations placed on them by family, life in whole, or school. Sometimes living up to expectations is more than a person can stand. At what time the person self-mutilation, it causes the adrenaline to rush to brain producing a high affect. This is more than often sufficient, and the addict will not go further until the next time the high as needed.

In some instances, death results stemming from the symptoms brought on by the addiction. Once the person tires out from suffering, he/she might result, or act on suicidal tendencies which are often brought on by depression. Depression triggers deep-seated emotions, which in turn leads to death. Self-mutilators will slice their wrists; slice their arms, legs, and other parts of the body, including the neck. If suicidal tendencies exist sometimes, the addict will not tell anyone. For this reason, this addiction is highly, above average, dangerous. Still, most persons suffer in these addictions focused on gaining attention, were filling the need that was never filled. This then is an escape mechanism that provides pleasure, yet the pleasure is superficial.

Accidents can happen, especially if the person cuts deeper than he intended, and is scared to let anyone know. This person might take care of the problem on his/her own, believing that they can resolve the issue, yet fear entraps the mind, and a person is controlled by the emotions. A fatal mistake!

Anyone suffering from any type of addiction, mental disorder, depression, etc, is lacking the ability to stay in touch with the mind, i.e. the person functions on emotions. When a person functions on emotions, the person is placing self in a dangerous situation, and is vulnerable to others.

Teenagers are often the ones addicted to pain. Teenagers caught up in peer pressure, Satanism, were trapped in the world of illusion will often resort to addictions to relieve suffering.

Pain addicts will often feel edgy, unnerved, stressed, and will experience depression often. The addicts will often cause harm to self to relieve common symptoms brought on by stressors, i.e. these persons have the inability to cope with life and its expectations. Therefore, we are looking at an inability to cope, which is found in many disorders, addictions, and in life itself while we look at pain addictions.

According to few pain addictions is often backed by borderline personality disorders (BPD), which is one of the most dangerous disorders in the listing of mental health. BPD patients often feel abandoned, and will often do anything even if it hurt someone else, or self to gain control.

Addictions Crossing Over

Cross-Addictions

A person might go to an AA Meeting and tell the audience they are a cross-addictive survivor, yet many of the people may become confused. Cross-addictions are using alcohol, drugs combined, and being addicted to both.

Alcoholics will often drink alcohol and stay away from drugs with the exceptional occasions that they may try drugs out of curiosity. Drug addicts will often use drugs to escape reality, yet they will drink alcohol without the purpose of getting drunk.

Cross-addicts will use both alcohol and drugs to receive a height of highness. Sometimes cross addicts will depend on alcohol to receive the level of high, especially when they cannot make connections with dealers to obtain drugs, or else they are low on cash and cannot afford the drugs. Likewise, if the person has money they will buy drugs and drinks to get their level of high, or sometimes the person will drink or drug one day dismissing one of the substances or chemicals.

Cross-addictions are far more dangerous than alcoholism, since mixing drugs and alcohol can lead to death sooner. Cross-addicts will use cocaine, amphetamine, marijuana, alcohol, liquor, etc without caring what substances and chemicals they mix.

Cross-addicts take greater risks than common alcoholics do, i.e. they often affiliate with drug dealers, users, etc which puts them at risk of going to prison, not excluding the risk of losing their life. The drugs and alcohol is not the only area of threat to life in this situation, since when bad blood crosses in drug relationships, death could be the ultimate result.

Cross-addicts are often in extreme denial, while alcoholics will admit they have drinking problems, yet fail to see the results of drinking. Drug and alcohol addicts will hide heavier than common alcoholics will, since they are behaving illegally. In other words, drugs are against the law; therefore, the person has to use extreme precautions, which brings on paranoia.

Paranoia often sets in because a person has to live in secrecy ongoing, and because the person is breaking the law, including, moral laws. Cross-addicts are less revealing. Cross-addicts rarely tell anyone other than druggies or persons they feel they can trust behaving in like manner, but will not tell family, true friends, or counselors. Rarely do they seek help until the law comes in and the person is arrested and forced by the courts to seek help. Some people confuse paranoia with paranoid, however paranoid is more extreme and anyone with paranoid symptoms is either schizophrenic, psychotic, etc.

Alcoholics tend to fall into the arms of the law before getting help also, however some alcoholics will try to quite on their own, or else seek help on their own contrary to what others believe.

Cross-addicts will also commit other crimes in some instances. Especially if the person uses crack cocaine, the person will often steal, lie, sell self as sex to get drugs, sell children, etc. Crack addicts are by far the worse types of drug addicts in the world. They have no purpose in life often, and often feel as though the life is drained from their souls. Cocaine addicts will also commit other crimes, yet they are passive and rarely expose their actions. For example, cocaine addicts might sell drugs to support their habits, or else swindle or even steal on occasions to find ways to support their addictions.

Marijuana is more or less a pastime drug, and while some claim it is addictive, I would have to see more evidence and facts that support their claims. Therefore, marijuana is not something I would put in the category of addictions. In fact, my counselor’s husband smoked marijuana and she is the one that put me to thinking more into marijuana, yet I hate the stuff, so regardless I find no use of it, yet it is the only statistical poll on the marketplace, i.e. the drug has caused no deaths at this time. This includes affecting the heart that would cause death.

Addictions Crystal METH

Crystal METH is one of the leading drugs today that is sending thousands to the addiction line. Crystal METH is cocaine in another form. I would give you more light on this, however I am a strong believer that publisher ingredients that reaches the world only triggers possible manufacturers into making the drug. I will not contribute to any drug dealing.

Crystal Methamphetamine is the latest madness going on around us everyday. In fact, I live in a small city that has the highest crime level (being the second in the world) of dealing with Crystal Methamphetamine.

Crystal addictions are at the top of the line of addictions in the world, with other addictions following. Crystal methamphetamine labs are circling areas of Michigan, growing stronger each day.

Law enforcement agencies are putting together task forces specifically working to eliminate drug users, sellers and manufactures. What’s making the drug industry increase?

Part of the problem falls on the system, since many times the areas where drugs are skyrocketing are not helping these people find jobs, or else the people are falling helpless into a selfish system that is not offering good examples.

Police officers, judges, lawyers, etc have been caught in a manufacturing drug ring, thus why is this happening in our society? The sadness of it all is that crystal methamphetamine manufactures is enslaving others through their process of consuming and making drugs. In other words the drug dealers may demand an action, which the person does not have the ability to perform his/her self, thus the person will offer drugs to another person to perform the action in demand, thus another addict is possibly formed. As you can see drugs are enslaving chemicals that cause harm to everyone near them.

Crystal METH is a stimulant or speed that is powerful. The drug will target the CNS (Central Nervous System), increasing the adrenaline. This fabricated chemical known as Crystal METH or Crystal Methamphetamine leads to dependency and probable abuse, i.e. abuse of usage.

Some dealers illegally manufacture the drug in several forms, e.g. some sellers manufacture powder, pills, capsules, chunks, etc. This form of cocaine is often injected or snorted, since the users feel that the high comes quicker in this fashion. The problem comes in after snorting, digesting, etc since after a short time the high wears off and the person will crave more to obtain the addicting high.

If you noted in the body of this last sentence that some people will inject this form of cocaine into their flesh. We can see another problem evolving, i.e. many drug dealers or users more specifically will share needles. This could lead to Aids.

Addiction is not the only problem we are dealing with when it comes to drugs. Rather many people not only become addicted they lead others into addictions, as well as add extreme risks to many lives, i.e. murder or disease.

When people are caught up in drug rings fatalities may occur, since aggression is often the problem. In other words, drug dealers are aggressive; if you rip, a dealer off you might not see tomorrow since many people shoot the party stealing from the dealer. Some dealers will even hurt the party’s family members.

Just to help you become aware of the Crystal we can consider its titles, which include ice, crystal, speed, METH, crank, snort, zip, Christy, 64glass, cocaine, etc, the ice often comes in form of smoke, as well, as the 64glass, crystal and quartz.

Nowadays millions of people are using methamphetamine. While statistics will claim that the prevalent users are blue-collar, students, or poverty stricken souls, the truth is doctors, lawyers, judges, cops, etc all have been uncovered. In fact, poverty-stricken individuals cannot afford this type of drug, since it is exceptional costly.

If you notice signs in your child’s behavior, i.e. changes in behaviors, or else if you notice your child acting out in secrecy or paranoia you might want to seek help. Children are susceptible; therefore, any child could fall into the hands of a dealer.

Addictions heading to Disaster

Gambling takes hold of a person’s soul subjecting him/her to fun, excitement and money, which in turn dissociates the person from reality. Gambling increases the heart rate, impulses, etc which gives off a high similar to drug and/or alcohol addictions. Gamblers are driven by ego, taking risks, and will often seek acceptance to affirm connection with reality. Thus, the person strives to prove self in society.

A person addicted to shopping will shop when unhappy feelings knock on their door, and will often spend beyond their financial means. A persona addicted to shopping is similar to alcoholics or drug addicts, i.e. they will hide items purchased, hiding the items out of fear, or else never use the items purchased. While alcoholics and drug addicts will use their purchases, the similarities of hiding their habits are never contrasting.

Pornographic materials are claiming marriages, child’s mental wellness, lives, etc yet no one is making the moves to remove the garbage from the marketplace. Thus, the entire world is influenced by sexuality, thus making people symbols, victims and addicts of these harmful materials. Now we have pornographic addicts, which are leading us straight toward disaster. Especially since serial killers are addicts of pornographic materials. These souls will use the materials (not to reach fulfillment) rather to enforce their reasons to kill. Serial killers believe that humans are a waste to society, thus this motivates the killer to kill.

Morphine addictions are ever rising. Morphine derived from opium, which at one time was a good poppy plant that benefited others until one German discovered the ingredients that brought forth morphine and later brought forth heroin. Thus, now we are dealing with morphine, opium, and heroin addicts all around the world. Opium is highly addictive and it has a tendency to develop physical and psychological dependence very quickly, which means within few encounters with the drug a person can become addict of it. At one time the drug was utilized to treat (mostly women) diseases, or common pains caused from menstrual cramping. After the good German man played around with the plant, disaster followed.

Kleptomania is an addiction, since the person often feels the impulse to steal to satisfy a desire. Kleptomaniacs will steal even if they have money to pay for the items. Yet, we must consider this addiction closely, since kleptomaniacs often have dangerous underlying disorders, such Antisocial Personality Disorder.

Cigarettes are one the leading addictions of today. Addiction to smoking is reached usually within the first year of experimenting with cigarettes. Yet, some people can test the tobacco out of curiosity and put it down, others will continue smoking sense they believe it rests their nerves. Cigarettes do the opposite in fact. If you smoke before bedtime chances are you will experience restlessness and anxiety, since the cigarette has fourteen different drugs, including carbon monoxide.

Sexual addictions can include - No Sex or Limited Sex. Some sex addicts are predatorily in nature and will often fantasize, including penetration, oral, sadism, fantasizing through images. Sex addicts masturbate frequently, while engaging in immoral thoughts. Yet, while the person is fantasizing he may not search for a partner, unless has intentions to harm or to engage in sadistic behaviors.

The addictive nature of drugs varies, i.e. many drug users strive to fill a need, which starts with small consumptions, and leads to excessive usage. In addition, a person psychologically or genetically predisposed may become addicted to drugs etc, and has higher chances of becoming a dependency.

As we discuss the different types of addictions, we see that all have mechanisms that can lead to disaster.

Addictions of Sexuality

Why do people become addicted to sex? The reason is obvious to few people since the action can bring pleasure. Still, people addicted to sex may swing from partner to partner, and at the same time knowing they are at risk, will continue their behaviors.

Sex additions are no innovative problem. Rather in Sodom and Gomorrah, the recordings in the bible indicate that sex addictions reached back to B.C. The inborn notion of sex is between a man and woman in union of marriage, yet nowadays man/man, woman/woman, multiple partner relationships is not uncommon.

Pornography is the root of sexual deviants and we can see that pornography developed and continued throughout society B.C. Prostitution and other sexual infertilities have been issues long before today.

Some people believe that prostitutes have sexual addictions. This is far from the truth, since sexual addictions can also involve no sex. Some sex addicts are predator in nature and will often fantasize about sexual encounters, including penetration, oral, sadism, etc. The person will masturbate regularly while engaging in immoral thoughts. Yet, while the person is fantasizing they may not search for a partner, unless the intentions are to harm or to someone willing to engage in sadistic behaviors during intercourse.

This type of sexual addictions is dangerous since often these types of people are sexual deviants, or else thinking in the mind how they can get away with sexual deviations without getting caught.

Other types of sexual addictions are still dangerous since the person often will put self at risk. Some people hurt emotional deep and will employ sex as a form of escape, using the action to relieve the pain they feel deep within their souls.

Persons acting out sexually are often, titled Whores or Sluts, or womanizers, etc. The fact is these people are sick mentally and require mental health assistance to help them restore their humanity. Other times the person can get help providing someone is intelligent enough to guide them, inform them, and help them get through the problem without blaming, accusing, or calling the person names out of human nature.

A whore is a woman and/or man that sell sex in exchange for money. Yet, even a person selling self is not necessary to blame for their behaviors, since mentally they are suffering emotionally.

To give you some insight on sexual addictions, alcohol/drug additions or any type of additions we can compare human nature inborn elements against the lacking of emotional and physical elements that force these poor souls into engaging in illicit behaviors.

Human nature consists of self-esteem, self-confidence, trust, hope, happiness, joy, love, sadness, inner peace, motivation, self-respect, goals, plans, schedules, work, socializing, etc. If a person is missing the elements that make a person whole, often they will go in a wrong direction.

For example, humans base their life on goals, plans, schedules, work, and socializing. If a person does not have goals, plans, schedules, a purpose in life, and social skills they often feel as though they belong somewhere other than the world. In other words, they feel like misfits. The problem isn’t these people however; rather the problem is faulty teaching, negligence in education, parental guidance, insufficiency of love, etc. We can never get to the root of the problem, until we see that someone has hurt these people, causing them enough pain and suffering the person will employ sexual relationships, including self-relations to release pain. We see the self-esteem, confidence, trust, hope, love, etc. is missing from these peoples life. In other words, the people were, never loved correctly in the first place.

Then what is the problem? Why do we have sex additions? Because people NEED and people have wants that need fulfillment and if they are not getting those needs fulfilled, they will resort to pleasure-pain based solutions to relieve the hurt they feel within their lost souls.

Particular mental illnesses have side elements, including sexual addictions. Predator mental ill patients often engage in thought-provoking images. The images unfortunately come out in reality, since many of the patients with predator-based mental illnesses will rape, kill, or else make someone wish like hell they died.

Addictions Pain Inside

Pain Addiction comes in more than one form, i.e. pain addicts my focus on eliminating pain, or else issuing pain. Some people will use pain to escape, at the same time feel pleasure from the pain experienced. Some people issue pain, inflicting harm to their flesh in an effort to seek attention. In rare instances, pain addicts will cause harm to the body, which could lead to accidental death. It is rare, but it does happen. The sensations of the pain issued to the body makes the adrenaline rush, which becomes additive.

The second type of pain addiction is opposite, yet other addictions follow pursuit since the goal is to annihilate pain, rather than enjoy pain. Rather, the person often suffers chronic pain, which strive the person to use pain pills, alcohol, drugs, etc to kill the pain. Now we have added problems, since rather than utilizing strategies to reduce the chronic pain, we have people relying on drugs, prescriptions, and alcohol to find relief of pain.

Pain addicts that cause harm to find pleasure from pain will use pain to escape. While escape in this instance is vague since each person differs…for a variety of reasons, it leads the person to issue pain to escape either family stress or school problems, or even peer, pressure. Expectations are often difficult for these people to understand. When expectations are placed upon the person, they resort to pain, which in turn increases the adrenaline giving the person a high effect. This is often the reason addictions come into play, i.e. the feeling makes them crave the feelings.

Regardless of the notion, either way we have pain addictions, since one uses pain to escape reality or the other uses harmful substances and chemicals to reduce pain. In both instances, death is involved, yet only in rare cases. Some addicts of pain will endure suicidal tendencies, which are often triggered by depression.

Those utilizing pain to escape will often cut themselves, either on the wrist, arm, legs, or neck. The person often does this in privacy, thus their plans to commit suicide is unknown to others. In some instances, the person might tell someone that they are suicidal. Now we have to consider this, because we have variants of suicidal, i.e. we have suicidal thoughts, suicidal tendencies, suicidal traits etc with suicidal thoughts as being far more dangerous than suicidal tendencies and/or traits.

To help you understand we can label and define tendencies, thoughts, and traits in order. Suicidal tendencies come in spurts. The person often feels the tendency to commit suicide, yet the thoughts are weak in this instance e.g. the thoughts are backed by attention getters. In other words, these types often seek attention, rather than death.

Traits are hereditary in some instances. The person may not be suicidal thoughtfully, yet may experience times of thinking suicide, whilst they will often wonder why these thoughts are occurring. Traits are one of the areas that we can consider that accidents could lead to death, yet each area of suicidal, i.e. traits, thoughts, and tendencies are nothing to take lightly.

Thoughts on the other hand is far more dangerous, i.e. a person thinking suicidal thoughts might not tell anyone what they are thinking, and will in fact act out on their emotions and thoughts. The mind is powerful, and thoughts, is one of the most powerful mechanisms of the human mind that can in fact lead to death.

Thus, where does death come into play? Some pain addicts will kill self slowly by engaging in harmful habits that lead to death gradually, while others will tire out of their suffering and will act on thoughts of suicide to escape wholly from their suffering. Still those cutting their neck, arms, wrists, and legs, e.g. if they cut their neck, and wrist it could become fatal and accidentally they could die.

If you know anyone harming the body with sharp objects, or else enduring thoughts, traits, or tendencies of suicide, seek help immediately.

ADDICTIONS to PAIN

Addiction to any Substance or Habit is always an alarming behavior and should be check in time to prevent grievous consequences.

Pain Addiction is one of these plethoras’s and is often worse then anyone would admit to himself. It is a serious addiction and should be taken very seriously.

Actually, this addiction is not really to pain, but primarily to free-flowing Endorphins- a hormone-like substance that body releases whenever a pain or injury is experienced. These Endorphins accompany the pain and are very similar in structure and effect to the Opiates, like heroin and morphine.

We can feel the effect of Endorphins whenever we have accidental hit. As when one stubs his toe he feel a sharp pain that is immediately followed by numbness, and this numbness is because of endorphins release, which act as a natural anesthesia. However, during this, a person can feel emotions, but only if they are intense, such as anger, rage, etc.

Pain addiction is a progressive disease. The unconscious craving for stress and pain often drives the pain addict to make need based decisions rather than wisdom. Once a person is addicted to pain, breaking this habit takes considerable strength and the complete external support from family and friends.

The emotional pain addict consciously or unconsciously seeks out such situations that will surely result in pain. It’s a kind of enjoying punishment.   Prolonged histories of negative, stressful, and failed relationships are usually root causes of emotional pain addiction.

Pain can be used for the reasons of pleasure, or for the soul purpose of grabbing attention. The person at times also indulges into painful tasks just to escape the reality. A pain addict generally uses pain as a satisfying element in his solitude.

Most often when a person uses pain as an escape, it is due to a stressful family life, problems at working area or college tensions. Living up to parent’s expectations, house chores, schoolwork, friends, and competition can be the prime causes of stress. The pain addiction can be found in any gender regardless of age factor though young people are more affected by this.

There are many cases of accidents sometimes-even death due to pain addiction. In cases of pain addictions, suicidal tendencies come to mind, brought on by depression that triggers these causes of death. Generally, young adults cut themselves on the wrists, arms, legs, or neck. Most often, a threat or act to suicide is a plan to get attention. Nevertheless, even, this should be taken seriously, as it could accidentally harm the person.

Second, reason is Pleasure. The “high” feeling when in pain triggers senses and that is what causes the sensation pleasure. Signs of this kind include- puncture wounds made by needles or other sharp objects. Pleasurable responses to a painful situation like biting, pinching, and even violence to the point of leaving bruises are symptoms of this addiction. Usually it’s not fatal until someone takes it too seriously.

Another form is to seek attention. A person gets into fights just to have the marks and bruises to show off. Parents often become worried about their children when they come home with a black eye, or a broken bone. In addition, it served its purpose when the parents pay attention to the young adult.

Further, this addiction can lead to another form i.e. Drug Addiction where a person overly is depended on the Painkillers. He then begun to either abuse or addicted to his pain medication. Moreover, this is as much dangerous as the former one.

So, frequent assessment and follow-up with counselors, physical therapists, physicians, psychotherapists, or other health care providers with effective tools can help a person from not being "victimized" by the pain addiction:
