Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma - Is cancer caused by a previous exposure (as much as 20 years prior) to asbestos.  I don’t have experience with this particular cancer personally. But I do know the treatment options giving my pituitary tumor. Usually doctors try to cure problems with drugs, then surgery, and finally radiation. If medicine doesn’t work, then typically nothing else will either.

Prescription drugs will normally attack a problem to reverse or to a standstill so that the problem can be controlled. However, is to cut away the problem, and in the case of cancer it will grow back. Radiation is the cure all of the medical world. It’s the last resort. Radiation kills everything in its path, no matter how “focused” they say the beam is.

Because I have a pituitary tumor, I am being pushed into radiation. But I will not go. The damage that will result from radiation sessions is not worth living a few extra years. Unfortunately I had to find this out from a dentist friend, instead of the doctors trying to persuade me into this procedure. Perhaps they knew or perhaps they didn’t in either case, they should have informed me. Why does a dentist know more than a neurosurgeon? Because he has worked on people AFTER they have underwent those procedures and knows the damage that results, whereas the neurosurgeon may or may not know the results, even though they should.

It upsets me that every major procedure that I have underwent, I have not been told the whole truth. I get alot of, "we will see", or "trust me". I would prefer the truth.
