Lasik Eye Surgery

Lasik Eye Surgery - The worst thing that can happen to me is when I lose my glasses. I am virtually blind, and with the extra loss of vision after my most recent pituitary surgery, it’s even worse. I always said I would get Lasik when I got some money. It’s much cheaper than it was before, but by no means is it safe. I believe this is a general problem with society looking for a “quick fix”. Surgery should always be a last resort, because there are some serious dangers with any procedure. I mean ANY procedure.  Most are hidden from common knowledge. If there is one thing I would love to impress on people is that doctors DO NOT know everything. To me, Lasik eye surgery is not worth the risks. Plus there are side effects that I could do without.

Medical sciences has advanced greatly, but keep in mind, leeches were used until 1960 as a cure all. They are still used today in a less generic fashion to help reconstitute blood flow of severed limbs or appendages. Does the phrase, “It’s a miracle” sound familiar in the medical field? Just because a doctor can’t explain it, doesn’t make it a miracle. That’s paramount to saying if I can’t explain it, God did it. Right…

Some of the side effects include: double vision, starbursts, halos, dry eyes, and decreased night vision.

Are glasses really so bad?
