Health Insurance, You got to be kidding! Unless you have had a major illness or problem then you might not sympathize with the millions of Americans that are unable to get treatment to keep them alive, must less healthy. I can barely talk about this subject, because not very many people have a clue. The ones that do, work in the industry and they agree with me whole-heartedly. To everyone else, there is a false perception of quality service.

For example, I love McDonald’s food. If you talk to someone that works at McDonalds they will probably tell you that they have decided never to eat there again. Same could be said for almost any job. If you ask someone how honest or great the company they work for is, you will often get a surprising answer. For example, did you know what the people at Lenscrafter’s are on commission? It puts a different perspective on things when they say, “The doctor says you need these special glasses.” Well, the doctor gives you a prescription, you can choose whatever type of frame and lens combination that you want, even the super cheap brand that they don’t tell you about, because they do not receive commission on those types of lenses.

My point is not everything is as it appears. I have had two pituitary tumor surgeries and I have spent over 50k of my personal funds, even when my “insurance” was going to cover everything. I have found the market up to be horrendous, most people are aware that if they give you an aspirin at a hospital that you are billed something ridiculous like $20.00. The markup for everything at a hospital is the same, and that gave birth to outside sources offering the same services but at a discounted price. MRI at a hospital, $2000.00. At an outside vendor, $500.

Health Insurance companies are a problem, but this isn’t isolated to them. Doctors and hospitals are not innocent. I could go deeper into it, but people are not ready to hear what I have to say. Plus there is no solution.
