Laptop

Laptop - portable computers. I can't wait for the day I can afford alot of laptops... and a car. But that's a different story. I was into car customization as a teenager, but what raging hormone male teen isn't? Built some car stereos, put in a few CD players, amps, and speakers. I had a great idea about putting a laptop into a car so I could play MP3s and videos, but I’m way behind the times. They got that and them some. But I do have an idea that I haven’t seen yet.

Ok, picture this. A row of touch screens in the dashboard going across the vehicle. Put together in such a fashion that they are “seemless”.  For some reason, I just got the feeling that we are going to see this in future cars, (at least give me credit!). This row of screens is multifunctional. While driving, it acts as a review/sideview mirror via video feeds or webcams if you prefer. At night, night vision of course. Then your music and phone calls can be routed to the touch screen.

The main reason, (other than being geeky) I came up with this idea, is because I lost a lot of my peripheral vision.  And the car that I’m driving is missing a passenger side mirror, that so happens to be on the side that I can’t see. Yes, I’m aware it would be easier to get a side view replacement, but where is the fun in that?

A lot of people ask me about shopping options when it comes to computers and especially laptops. Personally, I have no preference with laptop brands. Having owned several, my advice depends on how you use it. You want a desktop replacement, then get a beefy one and buy a Li-ion battery. If you want something for only school or office papers, go lightweight and smaller screen size. If you want to war-drive get Atheros compatible hardware. The list goes on.

But the two things I always suggest is backup software and data recovery.
